One of the highlights of any visit to Koh Phangan is the "Full Moon Party" that takes place each month on the crescent shaped beach at Haad Rin. If your visit to the Island happens to coincide with the date of the Full Moon, it's a simply must see travel experience!! This is a Movie in two parts : the first one shows my favourite hotel in Koh Phangan, the Haad Son Resort on the West Coast of the Island. about 20km's (30 mins drive} away from Haad Rin in the far South. This serves as a nice contrast to the hustle/bustle and crowds of Haad Rin and it's {rather infamous?!} Full Moon Party. To sum up : enjoyed both ... but couldn't do one without the 'antidote' of the other, lol!!

Thailand is known for being a business transaction for westerners. Foreign food, foreign microbes, burning the candle at both ends, endless sight seeing, and a host of other things can and will come back to haunt you if you don't take care. Even if you do take care to forestall sickness there is all the time the unexpected and in Thailand that could be anyone from an over amorous elephant, a motorcycle taxi running you over and a host of other things just waiting for you colse to the next corner.

You may have great assurance in your home country but in most cases they won't cover you overseas.

Find a good voyage assurance and buy it for your trip no matter where you're going or for how long!
